Ptosis is a condition that affects the upper eyelids. It’s recognized by excessive drooping of the eyelid that partially covers the pupil. This condition is treatable with eyelid surgery.
Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, provides a surgical solution to ptosis by removing excess skin on and above the eyelid as needed. In some cases, excess fat can also be removed from the area, commonly done near the inner corner of the eyelid.
Using dissolvable or standard sutures, the hidden incision lines are sealed, and the area is ready for recovery. Patients are left with a rejuvenated look, free from any unwanted sagging of the skin.
